Inaugural CEA Awards to take place at the National Conference Centre during Plantworx 2027
The CEA (Construction Equipment Association) has announced the launch of the CEA Awards 2027, a new industry awards programme celebrating achievement across the construction equipment sector.
The inaugural awards will take place on the evening of Wednesday 23 June 2027 at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham, during the second day of Plantworx 2027.
Hosted in the venue’s Britannia Suite, the CEA Awards will build on the success of the Plantworx Innovation Awards, while broadening the opportunity to recognise excellence across the industry.
The new awards will continue to be held in association with Plantworx, creating an opportunity for exhibitors, CEA members and the wider construction equipment community to come together away from the show floor for an evening dedicated to celebrating the people, businesses, products and achievements helping to move the sector forward.
Plantworx 2027 takes place from 22–24 June at the NEC Birmingham, bringing construction equipment manufacturers, suppliers, plant hirers, contractors, operators and technology businesses together for three days of machinery, live demonstrations, new products and industry networking.
The timing of the CEA Awards on the second evening of the show will enable visitors and exhibitors already gathered in Birmingham to continue conversations from the show floor in a dedicated evening setting.
The National Conference Centre, located at the National Motorcycle Museum, provides a fitting backdrop for the new event. Its Britannia Suite is one of the venue’s largest event spaces and will give the CEA scope to develop the awards into a major industry occasion.

“Holding the awards during Plantworx makes complete sense. Much of the industry will already be together in Birmingham, and the National Conference Centre gives us a venue where we can create a really special evening in its own right.
“This is the first CEA Awards, and we want to build an event that the industry genuinely looks forward to being part of.”
The move marks a new chapter for the CEA’s awards programme while retaining its established connection with Plantworx. Further details covering award categories, entry criteria, judging, sponsorship opportunities and tickets will be announced over the coming months.
