CEA Senior Technical Consultant Dale Camsell joined colleagues from across Europe for CECE’s latest Technical Week, held from 15 to 18 June.

The meetings brought together CECE’s Technical Commission and specialist project teams to discuss the European rules and standards likely to affect construction equipment manufacturers in the years ahead.

Key subjects included the implementation of the Machinery Regulation, digital documentation, cybersecurity requirements, artificial intelligence, batteries, chemicals and emerging environmental product requirements.

Particular attention was given to the interaction between the Machinery Regulation and the Cyber Resilience Act, with CECE continuing to press for practical implementation that avoids unnecessary duplication, cost and administrative burden for manufacturers.

The meetings also considered progress on digital declarations of conformity, product data requirements and the importance of maintaining workable alignment between UK and EU regulation, particularly in relation to standardisation and product requirements.

The next CECE Technical Week will take place in Brussels from 21 to 24 September 2026.
