The UK’s leading attachments manufacturer - Miller UK – has announced the successful auction of its specially branded charity bucket, which raised £5,000, with the full amount going to the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
The bespoke bucket proudly features GNAAS’s distinctive colours and logo. It was first unveiled at a local community fair before being showcased at the Plantworx Construction Show, where visitors were invited to place bids via a dedicated online auction.
The winning bid came from Flannery Plant Hire, one of the UK’s leading plant hire companies. Flannery will now display the bucket at its Wembley depot, serving as a reminder of the life-saving work carried out by GNAAS, a charity-funded service delivering critical care and emergency support across the North of England. The bucket will later go into service as part of Flannery’s fleet.
Jonathon Cox, UK & European Sales Manager at Miller UK, said: "We are delighted with the response to the charity bucket auction and proud to see it achieve a winning bid of £5,000. The generous support from Flannery Plant Hire highlights the positive role our industry can play beyond construction.
“We also hope this initiative helps raise awareness of the incredible work carried out by the Great North Air Ambulance Service every day. While most of us hope we never need their services, it’s reassuring to know that, through efforts like this, we are helping ensure they are ready to respond when they are needed most."
Relying entirely on donations, GNAAS operates a fleet of helicopters and critical care teams that respond to more than 1,000 callouts every year across the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria, and the Scottish Borders.
Paul Flannery, Director at Flannery Plant Hire, said: " We were happy to support Miller’s fundraising efforts for the Great North Air Ambulance Service. We already work closely with similar charities across the UK and even had a specially branded machine on display at Plantworx in the Air Ambulance UK colours. We’re proud to help keep these essential services running and having the bucket on display at one of our depots will serve as a great reminder of our commitment to giving back to the communities where we operate.”
This initiative further strengthens the long-standing relationship between Miller and Flannery Plant Hire, both of whom continue to champion fundraising efforts in support of vital emergency services.
