New from Webtec is a mid-size hydraulic data logger with a large range of features and functions at an affordable price. With its graphical/numerical touchscreen control and up to 14 channels, users of the HPM5000 can measure, log and analyse mobile and industrial machinery data in fault finding, preventative maintenance, pre-dispatch inspection, R&D and test stand applications.
Rugged, compact, and easy-to-use, the HPM5000 is ideal for field service engineers who will like the simplicity of the max kit containing three pressure transducers which can be plugged onto any standard pressure test point and will immediately tell them the actual, peak, and differential pressure values in a system. A wide range of additional sensors are also available to measure flow (with or without a loading valve), temperature, speed, and contamination.
This versatile device can record data for up to 7 days, intelligently adjusting storage time based on available capacity and data storage rates. Data can be easily downloaded via USB for further analysis. Users can, therefore, leverage the datalogger’s capabilities for hydraulic system set-up and more involved fault finding. It is particularly useful for prototype machine assessment activities, such as identifying potential issues associated with high-inertia loads.
Users looking for a low-cost test stand solution will like that the HPM5000 is easy to mount, using the VESA standard mounting, and can be connected to an external PC for real-time data monitoring on a large screen. Webtec’s innovative new datalogger measures responses from up to six Webtec plug-and-play CAN sensors (12 channels) and two auxiliary analogue sensors. Two calculated channels are available, allowing users to select channels for operations such as subtraction, addition, multiplication, power, power differential, and volume calculations. These calculations can be applied to any relevant readings, including pressure, temperature, and flow. This flexibility enables comprehensive analysis across various hydraulic parameters.
For the analysis or storage of measurements, users can export/live stream all data to a Windows PC running Webtec’s free-to-download HPMComm 7.6 software. The software can represent recorded measurements using diagrams. Manipulating diagram curves allows for precise hydraulic analysis. For preventive maintenance, it is possible to import, superimpose and compare test results from different times to identify performance deterioration.
Straightforward operation makes the HPM5000 ideal for technicians of all experience levels. Its 4.3-inch anti-glare colour touchscreen is suitable for use with gloves, while large tactile buttons to the right of the screen facilitate operation in adverse operating conditions. The new datalogger offers an IP65 protection rating and functions in ambient temperatures from -20 to +50°C.
