ECV Bulletin - Issue 1

7 ISSUE 1 | ECV BULLETIN Finning sign up to fitting CESAR ECV as standard to all Cat ® machines in the UK UK and Ireland Caterpillar dealership, Finning has recently announced that the company is now fitting CESAR ECV (Emissions Compliance Verification) as standard across all new Cat® machines prepared at its facilities in Cannock. Having fitted CESAR for over ten years, the new ECV system provides another level of identification to quickly deliver emissions information across all machines. As the focus on emissions and clean air increases, the demand for ‘cleaner’ construction machinery is also growing, with more infrastructure projects demanding only the machines with the lowest possible emissions. By fitting ECV to plant machinery a machine owner can provide key emissions data in simple electronic format – the new ECV triangle is also easily identifiable. Jon Hatton, Order Fulfilment and Equipment Manager at Finning UK & Ireland said, “We’ve seen the growth in demand for a platform to make emissions compliance easier across the UK. CESAR ECV has enabled us to meet this demand and we are pleased to now provide the system onto all of the machines leaving our facilities.” ECV, using tamper evident colour coded labels with a unique alpha/numeric code, is linked securely to a machine's unique CESAR identity and ensures complete integrity of the system. Rob Oliver, Chief Executive of the CEA said, "The Emissions Compliance Verification (ECV) application for CESAR is the single biggest development since the scheme was launched as an anti- theft initiative in 2007. Today there is urgent demand for quick identification of the certified emission levels of machines and in developing ECV we have had some great input from the industry as well as major infrastructure projects, the Energy Savings Trust and London boroughs. The ECV's easy to see and scan visual label reduces the workload for construction site managers and local authorities alike."
