The Hyundai Heavy Industries Europe stand at the Hillhead 2016 event (28th – 30th June, Buxton Quarry, Derbyshire, UK Stand X1) will feature twelve machines including models from the new HX range of excavators and the new HL range of wheeled loaders and two World Premiers!

Hyundai is also planning live demonstrations in the quarry face demo area of the 52 tonne HX520L crawler excavator and the new 31 tonne HL980 wheeled loader, which made its debut at this year’s Bauma exhibition.

Also on the HHIE stand will be examples of the –9A models including the R17Z-9A, R25Z-9AK and the R80CR-9A crawler excavators. The latest HL models of wheeled loaders will also be on show including the 18.8 tonne HL960 which was launched at Bauma earlier this year and the 23.5 tonne HL970.

The new range of Hyundai excavators include an optional new state-of the-art Advanced Around View Monitoring (AAVM) Camera System, which offers the ultimate in safety for operators and site personnel. This unique technology allows the operator to secure a field of vision in all directions around his/her machine.  This system, which is exclusive to Hyundai, is the safest system available on the current market.

The AAVM (Advanced Around View Monitoring) Camera System is the first of its kind on the market.  A number of competitor brands offer systems with a 270° ‘look around’ with side cameras but Hyundai is the only manufacturer on the market currently offering four cameras which work in collaboration with the controller and produces a 360° image of the working range around the machine. It secures a field of vision in all directions with nine different viewing options including 3D bird’s eye view and 2D/4CH using touch screen technology.

Hyundai’s new camera system also incorporates IMOD (Intelligent Moving Object Detection) which informs the operator when people or dangerous objects are detected within a 16.5ft or 5 metre radius of the machine, offering the operator hi-precision control over the machine and its surroundings. The operator can select different views – not only a bird’s eye view – it can show you where your counter weight would be turning and show the circle around the base of the machine and many different angles by just touching the viewing icon on the monitor.

The IMOD indicates all movements around the machine. Movement is shown on the monitor by putting a rectangle around the object or person by indicating the side at which there is movement by arrows – the operator, in addition to viewing the obstruction, will be notified by an alarm.

This new system is perfect for busy jobsites, working in tight spaces, road construction where personnel maybe in the working vicinity of the machine, inner cities and sites where there are high safety concerns and regulations.

The AAVM is incorporated within the 8-inch (20.3-cm) interactive, adjustable, touchscreen cluster-monitor in the cab. The monitor includes haptic remote control, providing easier operator accessibility and better ergonomics. The haptic remote control delivers reactive, tactile sensations using vibrations and pulses to guide the operator through menu selections.

The AAVM system helps make the new range of Hyundai excavators among the safest excavators to operate on any jobsite.
