MOBA launches entry-level Compaction Controller at Plantworx

MOBA, the UK’s leading provider of machine control systems for the waste logistics and construction industry, has launched the MCA-500 machine control system for compactors, which can be used for both earthworking and road construction .

Previewed at Plantworx 2015, MOBA’s new ‘small system for big jobs’ is a simple and economical solution for compactors in which progress is shown in real-time on the display, so that the driver can see all the important information during the compaction process, such as the ICV (Intelligent Compaction Value), the vibration frequency, the amplitude and jump, so that over- and under-compaction is avoided.

Exact compaction is one of the most critical factors in achieving a high-quality, long-lasting road and to get the best results then the monitoring and control of passes, and of asphalt temperature, is required. Therefore, the system also uses an infrared sensor to detect the asphalt temperature, thereby enabling compaction in the optimum temperature range.

“The MCA-500 is now the construction industry’s first entry system in ‘Intelligent compaction’”, explained Ian Lewis, MOBA UK’s Managing Director.

“Our customers are always asking us how we can help them improve the productivity of their rollers as well as the quality of the finished surface. Now, with the help of the MCA-500 this can be easily achieved without higher investment costs. And because the MCA-500 can be installed on any roller, customers can easily and economically upgrade their existing fleet” added Ian.
