Next week, UK Trade & Investment will host two high profile major international conferences in Glasgow immediately prior to the Commonwealth Games. Both events will build on the strengths of trade and investment in the Commonwealth and give participants the opportunity to reinforce relationships with senior decision makers from business and government. The Commonwealth Games Business Conference, 23-24 July will take place before the opening ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Organised jointly with the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise and in partnership with EY, the event will be held at the University of Glasgow and host more than 200 business leaders from across the Commonwealth. The conference will focus on employment and skills, infrastructure development, improving financial services for business and the development of smart cities of the future. We are asking our key partners and stakeholders to contribute to and share highlights using online and social media channels. British Business House Hosted within Glasgow City Chambers, the British Business House will demonstrate British business expertise and highlight the UK’s investment proposition to key audiences through a programme of daily sessions in a variety of formats, on sectors including Digital Health; Agri-tech; Global Sport; Energy; Rail; Security; Space and Satellite Applications and on Opportunities in the Growth of African Cities. The event will be set against the backdrop of a unique and creative showcase, representing the ‘Best of British’ and offer space for high profile guests to hold one-to-one meetings and network.
