Plant tracking specialist AMI Group has been shortlisted as one of the leading suppliers to the plant hire industry. The company, which offers a range of tracking devices for the fleet management and after-theft recovery of construction plant equipment, has been nominated by Hire Association Europe (HAE) as only one of three companies up for the coveted ‘Supplier of the Year’ title at the upcoming 2017 Hire Awards of Excellence.

The winner will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony being held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane on Saturday 22nd April 2017. Independently judged by industry experts.

Gary Stockton, Managing Director of AMI Group said: “We are very proud to be recognised as one of the hire industry’s top three suppliers and this in itself is a huge achievement, especially because we operate in such a competitive market place. We would like to wish all finalists the best of luck.”

The Supplier of the Year accolade was open to companies that supply stock, equipment or services to the Plant, Tool and Event Hire sectors. Over £245 million worth of customer assets are protected with AMI Group systems, including several of the UK’s plant hirers and construction companies. In recognition that thieves are becoming increasingly sophisticated, AMI Group has developed the smallest, most covert plant tracking devices in the industry, making them far more difficult for thieves to locate.

HAE’s Managing Director Graham Arundell said: “We’re delighted with the calibre of the companies who have made the shortlist for the Hire Awards of Excellence 2017. There is a fantastic mix of major players alongside smaller, independents hirers so it is a good cross section of the hire and industry. The standard of entries was very high so the judges had their work cut out just to get the shortlist, never mind deciding on the winners.”
