Brazil: Overview of opportunities in the Mining sector
Mining is one of the most important industries in Brazil, representing US$ 40 billion in 2014 (5% of GDP). Since the end of 2015 mining companies based in the country are intensively focused on innovative solutions for issues in environmental recovery and remediation, reuse of waste, dams tailing, innovation and R&D, and cost reduction measures, among other areas. As a priority sector for Brazil, and Latin America, the Department for International Trade (DIT) team in Belo Horizonte, the capital of mining in Brazil, will be presenting the opportunities in this sector to UK companies interested in entering and/or expanding their presence in this market, providing information on:
• Overview of the Mining sector in Brazil, the main sub-sectors and mining areas;
• Raising awareness of the opportunities in the Brazilian market;
• Presentation from companies based in Brazil who will give a perspective of the demands of the markets;
• A Q&A session for UK companies.
