Beyond Brexit Briefing – exclusive to CEA Members – 25th April 2017, Woodland Grange, Old Milverton Lane, Leamington Spa.
Join the CEA Annual General Meeting and hear the latest Market Review and the Implications of the UK’s withdrawal from the European UnionYesterday the UK finally pushed the Brexit button and triggered Article 50. So what does this really mean for you and your company?  As we leap into the unknown, the CEA has assembled a group of experts to brief you on the likely implications of Brexit and the effects on our industry going forward. We will also take a closer look at the UK and global markets for construction equipment with our friends at Off-Highway Research.

Rob Oliver Chief Executive CEA (Construction Equipment Association) said, “Now that the starting gun has fired, it will further concentrate all our minds on what we want to see in a new EU-free UK in just two years’ time. It was heartening to see that in the Prime Minister’s letter to the European Council that there was welcome recognition of two things. The aim to provide “as much certainty as possible, as early as possible” and the benefit of implementation periods to adjust in an orderly way to new arrangements. The emphasis on a smooth regulatory pathway in the letter was also helpful as this is vital to business. The Brexit chatter has perhaps been too dominated by talk about tariffs and customs arrangements, which although important are only part of the story. Companies need to know what the regulatory rules of the game will be in our home market and well as the trading terms overseas. The CEA Beyond Brexit conference next month (25th April) will provide us with an early opportunity to get further feedback from our members, shed some light on some of their questions and no doubt generate more questions for us to work on”.

The Brexit Briefing addresses:

·         What are the considerations for exporters and importers?

·         What are the implications of leaving the Single Market on customs and tariffs?

·         What are the opportunities for OEMs and supply chain companies?

·         What effect is it having on UK and overseas markets?
