Global earthmoving attachments manufacturer, Miller UK, has been selected as a finalist in the Commercial Innovation of the Year category of the 2016 Construction News Awards, making the shortlist from among a record number of entrants.
Miller, which entered the awards together with equipment and crane hire firm, Hewden, impressed the judges with its enhanced hydraulic breaker design and the care taken to develop an innovative solution to meet an urgent customer need.
The new breaker incorporates three key features that set the product apart from anything else on the market last year – an innovative top bracket designed to fit multi OEM machines and sizes, a tracker device to prevent loss or theft and an automated lubrication system. Since its launch last summer, it has already had a dramatic impact on efficiency, safety and security at construction sites across the UK.
Before the awards, all finalists will attend face-to-face judging by members of the 61-strong jury, made up of the most influential clients and experts in the UK.
