CEA keen to keep the supply pipeline open

The CEA and its members are keen to keep the supply pipeline open right through from manufacturing to the job site – and continue to work with HMG. The CEA has also lobbied BEIS and DIT asking for clarification of elements of the Job Retention Scheme affecting our sector. Including bringing furloughed workers back into work to affect the urgent repairs and servicing of equipment in key sectors. We are also speaking to our MP regularly to get the sector view across.

Nadhim Zahawi, under-secretary of state for business, has also reaffirmed that house-building and other construction work must keep going to help the economy survive the devastation of the coronavirus pandemic.

The CEA will continue to be in touch with HMG and report on responses and the latest news impacting on our sector.
