CEA Members’ Forum and first Karaoke night – a huge success!
Last week, we hosted our third Members’ Forum and our first CEA karaoke! A huge thanks to our host National Fluid Power Centre (UK) and to our Forum sponsors bauma, UK Export Finance and Knibb, Gormezano & Partners.
It was great to catch up with existing members and welcoming Danfoss, IMMI and Moog Inc. to the CEA and finding out more about the work that they do.
Paul Lyons from the CEA provided a UK market update, followed by a global market update from Chris Sleight from Off-Highway Research. It was interesting to learn about the rise in electric construction equipment in the drive towards decarbonisation. Alex Woodrow from KGP explored further the challenges and opportunities presented by decarbonisation.
Paul Tandy introduced the support available for UK exporters and overseas buyers from UKEF. Dale Camsell provided an overview of the current technical and regulatory landscape.
At lunch, we were able to take a look behind the scenes at the latest training innovations at the NFPC that are educating the next generation of engineers and technicians.
Following the themes of the CEA Manifesto, we were joined by Tabby Hanlon-Scott from Enginuity for a session on the skills agenda. Enginuity is a charity dedicated to finding practical solutions to close the skills gap.
To support the recruitment and retention of top talent, we have teamed up with Personal Group to launch a new member benefit. Check out tomorrow’s newsletter for more information!
An insightful day and an excellent networking experience for all. Book your place now for the next Members’ Forum on 30 October at ABB Harnessflex in Birmingham.
