Joanna Oliver MBE prepares for new chapter

"There have been a few changes at the CEA in recent months, with some team members moving into freelance roles while continuing to work closely with us. Our agreement with ASL will conclude in early May 2025 as Joanna hands over her responsibilities for Policy and International. Joanna and Rob have been part of the CEA's fabric for many years, building strong relationships with many of you. I want to thank them both personally for their dedication and support.

The CEA remains fully committed to supporting members in the UK and internationally. While our approach to international engagement has evolved, it remains a key focus, with trade missions increasingly taking place virtually and handled in-house. As you can see in Joanna's excellent interview below, this at least means the CEA team will no longer endure dodging 'literal' bullets to represent our members!

Policy and Public Affairs work has also ramped up since the election. In 2024, we assigned CEA Board Members specific portfolios, with Charles Stevenson of JCB leading in this area. I am also relocating north of London this month and will take a more active role alongside Charles to ensure the CEA remains fully engaged. We are also looking to bring in a part-time role to track and monitor activity in this space.

Joanna will continue to run the UK Pavilion at bauma in a few weeks and remains heavily involved in PlantWorx, so there will be plenty of chances to see her before she moves on. We wish her the very best of luck in her future endeavours.." Viki Bell, CEA (Construction Equipment Association) Director of Operations
