Cybersecurity, decarbonisation and EU machinery legislation were high on the agenda in Brussels last week.
CECE's High-Level Technical Policy Advisory Group met on 7 October to discuss some of the major regulatory and industrial policy issues facing European construction equipment manufacturers.
Discussions covered the Cyber Resilience Act, the Industrial Accelerator Act, machinery emissions, battery regulations and the proposed European Product Act.
Of particular importance to manufacturers was the need for clear, practical cybersecurity requirements and greater certainty around future EU product legislation.
These discussions will feed into the CECE Congress 2026, taking place in London from 27–29 October, where the future of the European construction equipment industry will be firmly on the agenda.
