The CEA would like to extend its congratulations to Sam Mottram on his appointment as Product Management Strategy Director at Caterpillar, effective 1 June 2025.
Sam first joined Caterpillar in 2000 and, apart from a short time away, has been with the business for nearly 24 years. His new role, reporting to Korey Coon in the Building Construction Products Division (BCP), will see him working with global product groups and business partners to shape and implement long-term product strategies, oversee multi-generational product planning, and support key growth projects across the division.
He will also lead project prioritisation for the global product management team and focus on streamlining processes including new product introductions and product improvement initiatives.
Sam’s broad experience across engineering, sales, product support, retail, services growth and commercial roles makes him well placed to step into this position.

Sam joined the CEA Management Council as Caterpillar UK Ltd’s representative in 2019 and was elected Chair in 2020. During his time with the Association, he provided calm and thoughtful leadership, helping to guide the Council’s work and contribute to important sector-wide discussions.
A backfill for Sam’s previous role will be announced by Caterpillar in due course.
