Degree success for CEA’s Gill Stirk

A huge congratulations to CEA Technical & Regulatory Secretary Gill Stirk, who has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business Management with the Open University.

For Gill, it marks the completion of something she first started many years ago.

“I started my degree a long time ago but, because of work commitments at the time, I wasn’t able to finish it. I always knew I could do it and regretted having to stop.

“Former CEA Chief Executive Rob Oliver later gave me the opportunity to return to my studies and supported me throughout, which meant I was finally able to pick it up again. It took six years to complete part-time, alongside work and family life, so I am very proud to have finished it.

“I wanted to build my confidence and also gain a qualification that reflects and supports the many years of practical experience I already have.”

Gill added: “It was a lot of hard work, particularly as my children were younger when I started, but I am really glad I did it. Although Isabel is already trying to persuade me to do a master’s!”

Everyone at the CEA would like to congratulate Gill on a fantastic achievement and on seeing through something she had wanted to complete for many years.
